DTCC names Nashira Spencer chief security officer

The Depository Trust and Clearing Corp. (DTCCannounced the appointment of Nashira Spencer as chief security officer. She will oversee enterprise-wide global information security, physical security, employee safety, and crisis/incident management functions.

For the last six years, Spencer has served as chief information security officer and CTO at Anywhere Real Estate, which provides US residential real-estate services. She has also held risk- and security-related roles at Time Warner, Prudential Financial, Citigroup and Bloomberg.

Spencer will report to Tim Cuddihy, DTCC’s group chief risk officer.

Octaura taps CME Group’s Jason Cohen for dual COOCFO role

Octaura, the newly created syndicated loans and collateralized loan obligations solutions provider, has hired Jason Cohen to serve in the dual role of COO and CFO. Cohen will oversee the implementation of Octaura’s operational aspects and determine the company’s financial strategy.

Cohen joins from CME Group, where he was managing director for product management and markets operations. In his time at CME, he played a “significant” role in leading the migration of the BrokerTec and EBS platforms. Cohen was global COO for NEX Markets prior to the CME Group acquisition.

Alistair Griffiths joins Baton Systems as director of Emea sales

Baton Systems, a provider of post-trade processing tools, has appointed Alistair Griffiths as director of Emea sales. He was previously at FIS Global, serving as a senior sales executive of post-trade solutions, overseeing the UK, Channel Islands and the Netherlands. He has also worked at BlackRock and UBS, and spent eight years at BNY Mellon in collateral management, sourcing and growing the firm’s tri-party collateral management activity.

Griffiths will report to Alex Knight, global head of sales, and will be based out of London, focusing on new business acquisition across all Baton solutions in the region.

FIA Tech hires Debby Planer as head of connectivity

FIA Tech, a technology provider for the futures industry, has named Debby Planer head of connectivity, a role that was recently created to develop and manage connectivity to central counterparties, execution platforms, back-office providers, and brokers to acquire and manage data flows into and out of FIA Tech’s product offerings.

Planer previously served as global head of FX professional services at Osttra, a new post-trade services company that is a joint venture between CME Group and IHS Markit. Planer joined Osttra from CME Group, where she was global head of FX service delivery.

She is based in New York and reports to FIA Tech CTO Yossi Leon.
