BNY Mellon names Winnie Chen as head of treasury services for Asia Pacific
The Bank of New York Mellon has added Winnie Chen as head of treasury services for Asia Pacific. In this role, Chen will lead the regional strategy, execution, and governance for the treasury services business in APAC. She will have direct oversight of the relationship management and business development functions for the region, with matrix responsibility for all treasury services functions including product and client services.
Prior to BNY Mellon, Chen was at United Overseas Bank, one of Singapore’s big three banks, where she was group head for financial institutions sales and group transaction banking. She was previously head of financial institutions sales in North Asia for Hong Kong-based ANZ.
Chen will be based in Singapore and will report directly to Eric Boughner, global head of treasury services, relationship management, and business development. She will also have a regional reporting line into Fangfang Chen, APAC chair and APAC head of asset servicing and digital.
BNP Paribas appoints executives to global markets platform
BNP Paribas Global Markets has appointed Ashley Wilson as global head of prime services and John Gallo as global head of institutional sales and Americas co-head of global markets.
Wilson is globally responsible for prime brokerage, inventory management, and electronic execution activities. He is based in London and reports to Raphael Masgnaux, global head of prime solutions and financing (PS&F) & G10 rates, and Nicolas Marque, global head of equity derivatives and head of global markets for continental Europe. Wilson has also been named deputy head of PS&F, alongside Kieron Smith, and will report to Masgnaux in this capacity.
Wilson joins from Deutsche Bank where he was a managing director in their global prime finance business.
John Gallo is appointed global head of institutional sales, in addition to his current role as Americas co-head of global markets. He will steer the continued expansion of the bank’s client franchise worldwide. He is based in New York and reports in this new capacity to Olivier Osty, head of global markets. Prior to joining BNP Paribas in 2017, Gallo worked at Deutsche Bank, where he ran the institutional client group.
Liquidnet adds Anthony Victor to execution consulting team
Liquidnet, a global institutional investment network, has appointed Anthony Victor as senior execution consultant to the Americas. Victor joins Liquidnet’s execution consulting team, where he will leverage the firm’s suite of trading analytics, quantitative models, and algorithms to deliver tailored client solutions.
He joins Liquidnet from Royal Bank of Canada, where he served as managing director of electronic sales trading and oversaw electronic client coverage, client profitability, and algorithm development. Prior to RBC, Victor spent six years with Merrill Lynch as head of US electronic sales trading.
Based in New York, he reports directly to Mike Capelli, Americas head of execution and quantitative services.
Tradeweb adds Dan Cleaves to Dealerweb wholesale unit
Tradeweb Markets, a global operator of electronic marketplaces for rates, credit, equities, and money markets, has added Dan Cleaves as a managing director in its Dealerweb wholesale unit. He will lead the strategy and development of the Dealerweb Central Limit Order Book recently acquired from Nasdaq.
Prior to joining Dealerweb, Cleaves was chief executive officer of BrokerTec Americas with oversight of all global fixed-income products. With ICAP and NEX Group, he also served as global head of product for EBS and BrokerTec and head of US sales for BrokerTec.
He will be based in New York and report to Chris Amen, managing director and head of on-the-run treasury trading at Dealerweb.
Datactics hires Julian Wavell as head of business development
Datactics, a data quality software firm, has announced the hiring of Julian Wavell as head of business development. He will be based in London.
Wavell joins Datactics from Informatica, where he was part of the enterprise portfolio solutions team. Prior, he was EMEA business development director at Semarchy.
ACA Group adds Aimee Egan in new chief commercial officer role
ACA Group has announced that Aimee Egan has joined the firm to lead all go-to-market functions, including sales and marketing, in a newly created role of chief commercial officer. Egan will join ACA’s executive leadership team and will oversee the execution of ACA’s growth plan.
Egan joins ACA from Thomson Reuters, where she held a number of positions including general manager of small and mid-market corporations, vice president of growth and market development-corporate, and vice president and head of global sales of OneSource global trade.
She will report to Damon Zappacosta, global head of sales; Krissy Kennedy, global head of sales; Luke Wilson, partner; and Alex Allyn, senior director of account management.
Paul Hilgers to leave Deutsche Börse, Eric Leupold to succeed him at Cash Market
Paul Hilgers, managing director of Deutsche Börse’s Cash Market since September 2020, will leave the company at his own request for family reasons. He will be succeeded by Eric Leupold, who has been with Deutsche Börse since 2009 and has headed the company’s corporate venture capital arm, DB1 Ventures, since July 2019.
Leupold will be responsible for the Cash Market, which encompasses the Xetra market, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the primary market business, and the Deutsche Börse Venture Network. He will report directly to Thomas Book, Deutsche Börse’s executive board member responsible for trading and clearing.
Permira adds former Adobe CFO Mark Garrett as senior advisor
Permira, a global private equity firm, has appointed Mark Garrett as a senior advisor, focusing on growth technology investments.
Garrett most recently served as Adobe’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, where he led the company’s worldwide finance, operations, and corporate development activities. Prior to Adobe, he held senior leadership positions at Documentum and EMC Software Group.
