Nasdaq OMX Debuts Web-Based Trading Front End

nasdaq-1

Global exchange operator and trading platform provider Nasdaq OMX has moved into the trading front-end space with the introduction of the Genium Inet Web Trade web-based application.

Initially being deployed for Nasdaq OMX's European carbon and power derivatives market, the new platform includes pre-trade limit functionality, which gives general clearing members (GCMs) and direct members a toolbox for managing traders' market exposure as well as the ability to define trading accounts, trader rights and pre-trade limits.

According to Nasdaq OMX officials, the application was developed as an alternative for participants who do not already deploy third-party trading applications.
