Linear Investments Moves to TradingScreen's TradePrime Platform

In a statement, Linear's CEO, Jerry Lees, said that because TradePrime was able to deliver these services via the cloud, it "represents an exciting number of cost and efficiency savings for us."

TradingScreen CEO Philippe Buhannic tells WatersTechnology that Linear had already employed the New York vendor for its execution management system (EMS) and was familiar with TradingScreen's cloud capabilities. The ability to not have to add additional IT staff and hardware was the main driver in extending the agreement, Buhannic says.

"Linear knew that this [cloud-based solution] offered many efficiencies relative to a deployed solution, so we believe that the firm wanted to keep things in the cloud," he says.

Specifically, TradePrime includes order management system (OMS) functionality on top of its EMS functionality. As a result of this extension, TradePrime is fully integrated into Linear's back-office systems. This allows for a end-to-end solution with the EMS tied to position management and order management, compliance and risk.

Buhannic says that most recently his company has introduced full in-cloud compliance and a NAV center to the platform. Additionally, TradePrime now covers several new product types, including IRSes and CDSes.
